RED WINE HOT CHOCOLATE (VEGAN)

This Red Wine Hot Chocolate is rich and creamy, boozy and so comforting.

Ingredients
  • 30 g (1 oz) dark chocolate (ensure vegan/gluten-free if necessary)

  • 1/2 teaspoon cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup to taste (or sub any other sweetener)

  • 1 teaspoon cornflour (cornstarch)

  • 230 ml (1 cup) unsweetened cashew milk (or sub any other plant-based milk)

  • Splash red wine (ensure vegan/gluten-free if necessary)



Instructions
  • Place the dark chocolate, cocoa powder, maple syrup, cornflour and milk in a saucepan and mix well – it’s important that it’s mixed together before heating so that the cornflour is distributed evenly (otherwise there will be clumps, and tears)

  • Cook on a low heat, stirring regularly, until steaming hot and nicely thickened

  • Add a splash of red wine to taste

  • Pour into a cup and enjoy immediately!
